Day 57. 2012.

So, you know those moments when your kids make you smile and you think to yourself, I want to remember this moment, conversation, feeling, forever?

Well, my little man gave me one of those moments today.

I am so thankful that I am a camera nut and always have it ready to snap away because this was too precious not to have a photo (or two) to go with it.

Tyson has always taken issue with me calling him my baby.

By the look in his eyes, you can just tell that it bugs him.

I don't even have to wait for him to say, 'MOM! I am NOT a baby! I am a BIG boy!'

Today, he brought out his buddy, turtle, and very matter of factly stated that turtle is now the baby of the family.

DSC_4679 He proceeded to tell me that from now on when I need to say the word baby, I could say it to turtle but not to him.

'Mommy, turtle won't mind if you call him a baby and give him lots of hugs and kisses all the time. I asked him...' were his actual words.

This child of mine, my sweet baby (but please don't let him know that I called him that) makes my heart melt! DSC_4678

Day 46. 2012.

Whew, I knew going into this week that it had all the makings to be epically busy but now that it is here, I can see that indeed it will be a week to remember!

I would be remiss if I didn't mention a certain little man in our family 'graduating' from the 3- 4's pre- k.

Yup, that would be my son standing there with a smirk on his smug little face....

it's like he's saying, 'I dare you to make me sing.'

I know that I am in for a long school career with this child of mine.

My other two, so far, like school and for the most part enjoy attending.

The little man, on the other hand, will throw massive temper tantrums at the mere mention of the simple statement, 'Ty, it's a school day today.'

{Sigh}.

It isn't that he doesn't enjoy it once he gets there, his teachers tell me that he is happy and talks to them and his peers a lot once we leave the room.

I do believe at the tender age of three, though, that he understands exactly how to push our buttons and make us feel like horrible parents.

He is one smart cookie.

After his 'graduation', I realized again just how fleeting my time with him (and his big brother and sister) is.

That is why when Tyson insisted that I 'pway farm wif him' tonight before bed....

I just couldn't say no.

He proceeded to show me which tractors and trucks I could 'have'.

Even though I really liked the green combine, he convinced me that green was a boy color and was therefore his, and that since the red combine was a girl color that it could be mine. DSC_5782 Where do they come up with this gender stuff at such a young age?

Day 247

This is a story about a little boy and his monkey.

Monkey is one of my favorite friends.

He is always helping me.

Tonight, he helped me hide from mean mommy who was making me go to bed when I 'wasn't tired!'

DSC_1363
He cheers me up when I am sad because mommy found me and said I had to go bed even if I wasn't a little bit tired.
DSC_1368
Monkey listens to everything I have to say, even when mommy doesn't.

He understands that I am never tired!

DSC_1383
He really like bed time hugs and snuggles just like I do.

I love my monkey.

DSC_1389
Monkey was really good at helping me convince mommy that it was really him that was sleepy, not me.

Doesn't he do a good job of going night night?

I don't know what I would do without my monkey.

Day 224

Tanner has taken a liking to legos once again (he was really into them about 3 years ago and hasn't played with them much since!).

He wanted me to take a shot of him and this new truck that he built, he was pretty proud of it!

Day 198

Playing barbie dolls with my daughter tonight proved to be much more fun that I thought it would be.

You see, I got to play with my 'favorite' Kelly doll (pathetic that I have a favorite doll at the age of {ahem}, 30? Maybe, but I was pretty pumped when she said that I could use her!)

Since my girl is totally obsessed with anything that has to do with horses lately, it seemed only natural that Barbie and Kelly should move into the dollhouse that contains a room only for their horses....everyone should be so lucky to live with horses in the next room, don't you think?!

I thought it would be great fun to take the dolls for a horsie ride.

Everything was going great until my lovely little Kelly was literally thrown from her pony.

Madi looked at me, and I looked at her and we both burst into laughter.

Suddenly there was nothing better than seeing this little doll thrown from her horse.

We were rolling!

We tried it again and again, and she never let us down (except when I wanted to capture the moment on camera, then she decided she didn't want to cooperate anymore, typical!)

I forgot how much I love to make my kids laugh.

I hope I remember this moment, and try to make my kids smile the way that my girl was smiling at me tonight!
