Day 59. 2012.

I am going to let these photos do the talking, but seriously I don't know why my kids are always 10x harder to photograph together than others children?!

They are pretty hilarious to watch though...you can feel my stress from the other side of the lens, can't you?

And so it begins, I should have known from this moment on that this was not going to go as I had envisioned!


"The sun is soo bright mom!"

Boys will be boys eh?

"BUT I DON'T WANT HIM TOUCHING ME!"

I like this one!


One word, d.r.a.m.a.t.i.c.!


This shot couldn't be any more true to life...doesn't get much more real than this.

Can you tell that I was hoping that all the drama would go away if I stayed 'hididng' behind the lens?!

And this was what I got when I got after them for fighting...

hahaha, (SIGH) not a ONE looking at me, what I was even doing?!


Honestly the best group shot...we may have to try this again when dad or gramma is with!

tears...after literally 5 total minutes of shooting. poor kid, he was D.O.N.E.! And then miracle of all miracles, he gave me this gem of a smile..

and then stated, 'NO MORE!'

When I asked my math minded kid to show me how old he was going to be in a month, this is what he did.... Showed me doubles...

Stinker.

And last but not least, my easiest little model...at least I have one, right?!
So, that was it, my attempt at a session with my kids. I love them dearly, but there is a reason I am passionate about capturing life, and not posed forced smiles!

Hope your attempts at photographing your own children goes better than mine!

I have to say that it was easier when they were little!

Day 217

Wheat harvest is nearly finished, and fall is right around the corner.

The kids and I went back to school shopping and it was bittersweet.

I am excited to get back into a routine but sad that I have two kids who are going to be gone all day at school.

I have been finding myself saying this a lot lately, but where did the time go?!

So, until these last precious weeks come to a close, I am going to be documenting what is left of our summer!

We brought Travis supper in the field and stopped to play for a little bit.

Tyson was pretty happy he brought his combine with!

For him, there is nothing more fun than playing on an empty trailer.

Pure J.O.Y.!

Tanner and Madi were busy climbing straw bales and jumping off them.

And, YES, she is BAREFOOT!

She forgot her shoes and when I told her that she had to wait in the van, she had none of it.

The stubborn-ness in her puffed out her little chest and said very matter of factly, 'It doesn't hurt!'

And then the boys got into a little rumble when they found some old corn stalks to throw at each other.


Travis spent a lot of time fixing our old baler (he has had it since college and it has baled some 90,000 bales...CRAZY!)

Day 204

So, I have a child who loves to act silly in the field...

One child who is completely happy and at home ....

And another who absolutely HATED it!

And meanie mom that I am, I made the poor kid stand there for a couple of photos!

He didn't think it was so cool, like we all kept telling him it was!
